The team at Kyocera SGS Precision Tools is proud to share that Tom Haag has been named the recipient of the 2026 John J. Buckley Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by the Industrial Supply Association at ISA26 in Cleveland.
This award recognizes individuals who have dedicated their careers to advancing the industrial supply channel, making a lasting impact through leadership, service, and the respect they’ve earned across the industry
Tom’s career with SGS began in 1984, when his father, Jack Haag, acquired full ownership of the company and Tom joined the business. Over the next four decades, he helped transform a family-run operation into a globally recognized precision tooling brand.
After being named President in 2000, Tom led the company through significant growth, technical advancement, and operational evolution. Following the 2016 acquisition by KYOCERA Corporation, he continued in that role, guiding the integration of the two organizations while expanding into new markets and maintaining the standard of quality and service that defined SGS.
Tom’s impact reaches far beyond the company itself. His long-standing involvement in the industrial supply channel includes leadership roles and board service with organizations such as ISA, the United States Cutting Tool Institute, and the Scanlon Leadership Network.
He’s also known throughout the industry for something less measurable but just as important: his willingness to help others. Whether through mentorship, advisory work, or simply taking the time to share knowledge, Tom has consistently invested in the people around him.
That reputation came through clearly in the words shared by peers at the award ceremony:
“Tom has been a respected industry leader and a great member of our community for his entire career. He’s helped a lot of people, myself included, with his knowledge and wisdom.”
— John Wiborg, President & CEO of Stellar Industrial Supply
“He has embodied everything the Lifetime Achievement Award stands for — fun, loyal, smart, and always willing to help.”
— Bob Mars, President of Mars Supply
In accepting the award, Tom reflected on what has mattered most over the course of his career:
“This industry has given me the opportunity to learn from exceptional people, build meaningful partnerships, and be part of something much bigger than any one company.”
Today, Tom continues to support the business in an advisory role. And whether it’s in the office or out running another marathon, the discipline and consistency that defined his career continue to set the standard.
Join us in congratulating Tom on a well-earned recognition and a career that has left a lasting mark on the industry.
